Flag raising & prayer service
- Families assigned are responsible for planning the prayer service for this day. They are also responsible for flag raising before brunch.
How the week runs
Duties & committees
Every family takes a prayer service. Every man has a kitchen day. Every woman supervises latrines after brunch. Then there are the sign-ups that make camp sing.
Kitchen (cooks)
- Those assigned to the kitchen are expected to assist with preparing all meals for the day.
- Arrive at the kitchen one hour or more (ask Andrea) ahead of time.
- Prepare meals according to the menu plan.
- Keep the cooking area clean during the day and keep the area organized.
Meal set-up & dishes
- Be in the kitchen 30 minutes before each meal to help put food on the table. Only those assigned this duty are welcome. Those not assigned should be with their families.
- Check on middle table supplies and restock as needed during the meal.
- Serve dessert after the meal.
- Assist and supervise the washing, drying, and replacing of dishes (a team is also assigned).
- Do not set glasses out at each place setting. Leave them stacked at the end of each table with the spoons, etc.
- Assist and supervise the washing and drying of pots (a team is also assigned). Sweep, clean up, and mop if necessary the cooking area after each meal.
Dining room clean-up
- Teams are to clear tables, wash tables, sweep floors, mop after brunch, set tables and help with dishes until the dining room supervisors excuse them. This includes all meals on the day assigned.
- Adults supervise the teams as they clean up the dining room and make sure the tables are set with the right number of dishes for the next meal.
Latrines
- Teenagers will meet immediately after brunch to clean all the latrines under supervision from an adult.
- Latrine supervisor: get supplies to each bathroom at the start of the week, refill cleaning supplies, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels as needed throughout the week. Advised to check each day. Take inventory at the end of the week to prepare for the following year.
- Duties also include getting kitchen cleaning supplies ahead of camp week.
Beach duty (+ waterfront cleanup)

Lifeguard
- Responsible for being in a boat during general swim. Must have the life saver ring with them in the boat. See waterfront safety rules for more info.
PM soda (soda & snack time)
- Be in the kitchen 15 minutes prior to prepare for snack, dispense soda and snacks, supervise the dining room and clean up after. Younger children should be served soda in cups.
Family activity
- An hour spent as a family doing an activity of your choice, such as archery, canoeing, swimming, baseball, volleyball, etc. Challenge another family for this activity.
